Cub Scouts is a year-round family/home-centered program that develops ethical decision-making skills for boys in the second through fifth grade (or who are 8, 9, and 10 years old). Activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

Boy Scouting is a year-round program for boys 11 through 17 designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster. (Boys also may become Boy Scouts if they have earned the Cub Scouting Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10 years old.)

Boy Scouts of America FAQ: “Young people need faith. There is abundant evidence that children benefit from the moral compass provided by religious tradition. We acknowledge that faith can become an important part of a child’s identity. Each of the major faiths breeds hope, optimism, compassion, and a belief in a better tomorrow. Scouting encourages each young person to begin a spiritual journey through the practice of his or her faith tradition. One of the key tenets of Scouting is ‘duty to God’."

GIRL SCOUTS

Girls at every age level are welcome to join Girl Scouts!

Currently we have groups that meet at Sacred Heart on Friday evenings for grades K-5, and a group for grades K-12, who meet at the First Church of the Nazarene on Eastern Avenue on Saturday afternoons.

Families interested in either registering a girl or volunteering as an adult should email lynngirlscouts@yahoo.com

We will also have an information table set up at our Collaborative Faith Formation Registration Day in September each year in St. Mary's School Cafeteria.

We hope you can join us!

We, the members of Girl Scouts of the Unites States of America, are united by a belief in God. We believe that the motivating force in Girl Scouting is a spiritual one. -Preamble, Constitution of Girl Scouts of the Unites States of America
